Now we're off to Denmark by Ferry Boat.
It turns out that the ferry boat is a giant floating casino with people holding their toddlers up to feed the slot machines. Weird.Just off the Ferry Boat, here's what we see:
We were surprised to learn that Karma has been running a sushi bar in Frederikshavn, Denmark. Busy girl!We head North to the very tip of Denmark -- a spit of land in the town of Skagen, where the Kattegat and Skagerrak seas (coming from different directions) meet in a clash of white-caps. It turns out that Maggie learned all about this in Ms. Warner's geography class, so she's pretty excited to actually be here.
The girls...
...and the boys. Interestingly, the hair to the right belongs to British street artists that, by coincidence, we pick up later hitchhiking.
Amazingly, the jellyfish in the Kattegat are copious and cobalt blue. After getting our feet wet, we make the long drive to Arhus, Denmark's second largest city and sort of a big college town.
Arhus has an active harbor right next to the historic downtown.
Kobi meets some young sailors from the Russian Navy.
Next to the 12th century cathedral, we find a modern fountain sculpture, which acts as a magnet for all the kids in the area.
The kids fall asleep in the car as we head for our hotel in Billund. Tomorrow it's Legoland! Yipee!
