Coconut Lagoon is a really nice place, but the best thing about it is the Yoga teacher, Navin. To get to yoga class, we walk down the main road to the village, which turns out to be a muddy path wide enough for one person that separates the rice paddy from the cottages. We cross over a little bridge to the Yoga Place. We lie down on our mats under a woven roof of palm leaves, with netting for walls. The sound of the crickets and frogs plopping in the water, or the rain on the leaves are the only thing we hear except for Navin's voice. He tells us to relax. We do. He tells us to stand up on our shoulders. We do. He tells us to stretch like a cobra, or a mountain, or to stand like a palm tree. We do. He tells us to be still. He tells us to relax every single part of our body, and he lists them all. He tells us we are floating. We do. He tells us to slowly come back to our bodies, and the yoga place, and that class is over. We do, but we wish we didn't have to.
