The town of Panjim, Goa

On the streets of Panjim, Matt and Tenzin have a little contest:

Tenzin is finally taller than Uncle Matt. It can't be long now for mom and dad...

Then Mark takes the kids out to explore Panjim, while Jen and Kobi luxuriate in the modern bathroom, laundry facilities and air conditioning at the hotel.

Panjim has a Chapel of St. Sebastian, who is shown here as he is shot with arrows for disregarding his Roman employers and embracing Christianity.

Mark stands in front of the tomb of St. Francis Xavier, which can be seen high on the wall behind him.

Here's a closeup of St. Francis Xavier's tomb, where you can clearly see his remains because of the glass front.

Maggie and Tenzin rule the world from a hill near Panjim, Goa.

This morning at breakfast, Jen pointed out a story in the local press about a man who was planning a protest to "Save Old Goa", because he was against the effect of a waste disposal plant. He was intending to ride a motorcycle on the highway with a full blindfold. The police were intending to stop him, but he said he had been practicing and was sure there would be no danger. By some strange coincidence, Mark and the kids drove right past the protest and hopped out to see what was going on.

Nilkanth Bhomkar is surrounded by a crowd of both supporters and police as he is detained for being blindfolded and trying to ride a motorcycle.

In an elaborate ceremony, Mr. Bhomkar has the layers of blindfolds removed as the crowd watches.
